Basketball Recap: Chardon Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Chardon had won two straight games and Cameron Gerlica did her part to make it three on Monday. The Chardon Hilltoppers blew past the West Geauga Wolverines 56-34 thanks in part to Gerlica, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 21 points along with five boards and three steals. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Lilli Dillworth, who posted seven points and five steals. She has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played.

Chardon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.4 points per game. As for West Geauga, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-7.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Chardon will face off against South at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Chardon has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 167 points over their last three contests. As for West Geauga, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Perry at 6:45 p.m. on January 9th.
