The Maplewood Rockets will be taking part in a tournament against the Cuyahoga Heights Red Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Maplewood will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak.
Maplewood is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Monday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Rittman a 4-0 shutout.
Addison Marker was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and one triple.

Marker wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ava Calvert, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Calvert has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times she's played.
Meanwhile, after only two runs in their last match, Cuyahoga Heights made sure to put some runs up on the board against McKinley on Monday. The Red Wolves blew past the Trojans 16-0. Considering the Red Wolves have won ten games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Cuyahoga Heights also got a great performance from Skylar Sane as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Giada Presot was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four runs, two triples, and two stolen bases. Those two stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Aly Williams was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Cuyahoga Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .606. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as McKinley only posted an OBP of .400.
Cuyahoga Heights has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Maplewood, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 21-4.
Wednesday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Maplewood hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .362. However, it's not like Cuyahoga Heights struggles in that department as they've averaged .332. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
