Fernandina Beach posted their biggest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They blew past KIPP Bold City 54-8 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 32-3.
Fernandina Beach's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Naslynn Morris, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Morris has scored all season. Julianna Miller was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven steals and six assists.
Meanwhile, Yulee's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their seventh straight loss. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to West Nassau.
Despite their loss, Yulee saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Rheyna Hilton, who scored nine points along with 15 rebounds and eight blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Macey Reynolds, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
The win got Fernandina Beach back to even at 7-7. As for Yulee, their loss was their seventh straight at home, which bumped their record down to 1-12.
Fernandina Beach beat Yulee 34-23 in their previous matchup back in December of 2023. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Hilton, who scored eight points along with 19 rebounds and six blocks.
