B District 4 (8 Man) recap November 13, 2013
Wetumka extended the longest winning streak in B District 4 (8 Man) this week by beating Keota, 34-26. The win marks 10th in a row for the the Chieftains.
Gans lost to Davenport 50-0 last week, the largest margin of any game.
The Bulldogs' dynamic duo of Hunter Reed and Cade Harelson proved tough for the Grizzlies to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Reed threw for 124 yards and 2 touchdowns and Harelson had 78 yards receiving. Dakota Keith helped Davenport's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 46 yards.
Kaleb Kerley was a beast in the backfield as Strother defeated Porum.
Kerley provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Yellowjackets defeated the Panthers.
Dalton Nicol was a key player and the best on defense this week as Davenport topped Gans. He forced 1 fumble and recorded 1 fumble.
Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Wetumka's Jake Briggs and Chase Williams have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-1 quarterback Briggs has thrown for 1,366 yards this season, while Williams has 25 catches for 468 yards. Strother's Kerley leads the league in rushing yards with 2,039.
Dewar and Weleetka played the closest game in the league this week, with Dewar eventually emerging with a 22-20 victory.
