Leah Mondi made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out ten over seven innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two runs.
In other batting news, Avery Elkin was incredible, going 4-for-5 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Cameron Vandervort was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
West Shamokin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cambria Heights only managed two hits.
West Shamokin is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Cambria Heights, their loss dropped their record down to 13-7.
