On Saturday, Midfield came up short against South Forsyth and fell 59-50.
Despite the loss, Midfield saw an underclassman step up: Kamiya Webb scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Webb scored a full 38% of Midfield's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zephaniah Parks, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Midfield has not been sharp recently, as they've lost five of their last six matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season. As for South Forsyth, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Midfield will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bessemer City at 2:00 p.m. on January 6, 2024. South Forsyth will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against North Gwinnett at 5:45 p.m. on December 28th.
