Seymour is 9-1 against Derby since February of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Even though Naugatuck scored an imposing 69 points on Wednesday, Seymour still came out on top. It was close, but Seymour capped 2023 with a 71-69 victory over Naugatuck. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Seymour.
Indrit Peraj continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 5-for-8 from long range and dropping a double-double on 31 points and ten rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Seymour's points. Another player making a difference was Kooper Harmeling, who scored ten points.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Derby, who are still winless after their fifth contest. They took a serious blow against Wilby on Wednesday, falling 84-51. Derby has struggled against Wilby recently, as their matchup on Wednesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Seymour's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Derby, their loss was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-5.
Everything came up roses for Seymour against Derby in their previous matchup back in February as the team secured a 92-49 win. With Seymour ahead 44-24 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
