The Napoleon Wildcats will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Springfield Blue Devils at 7:00 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
On Monday, Napoleon was the victim of a tough 54-33 loss at the hands of the Trojans. While losing is never fun, Napoleon can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 315th, while the Trojans are ranked 110th).
Despite the loss, Napoleon had strong showings from Makayla Kruse, who scored 12 points, and Lylah Huddle, who scored seven points.
Napoleon struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only an offensive rebound. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Springfield was beaten by the Generals 71-32 on Monday.
Napoleon has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Springfield, their loss dropped their record down to 7-13.
Napoleon suffered a grim 42-18 defeat to the Blue Devils when the teams last played back in January. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Napoleon was down 24-2.
