Leila O'Dowd was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 13 rebounds for Rincon/University. That makes it ten consecutive games in which O'Dowd has scored at least a third of Rincon/University's points. Daphne Safo was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds.
Tucson High Magnet School's defeat dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Rincon/University, the win got them back to even at 11-11.
Tucson High Magnet School won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Catalina Foothills at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Arizona (Catalina Foothills is ranked 74th, while Tucson High Magnet School is ranked 93rd). As for Rincon/University, they will head out on the road to challenge Marana at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Marana and Rincon/University are at an even 5-5 over their past ten head-to-heads.
