Liberty is 0-10 against Shady Spring since December of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Liberty Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Shady Spring Tigers at 6:00 p.m. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses for Liberty and 17 for Shady Spring dating back to last season.
On Saturday, Liberty was beaten by Independence 68-38. Liberty was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 44-14.
Meanwhile, Shady Spring had to suffer through a rough 51-18 loss at the hands of PikeView. While losing is never fun, Shady Spring can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while PikeView is ranked 29th).
Liberty's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Shady Spring, their loss dropped their record down to 0-16.
Liberty was dealt a bruising 82-25 loss at the hands of Shady Spring when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Liberty avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
