Everything went Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's way against ASU Prep on Friday as they made off with a 34-12 win. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy was expected to win, but the margin was definitely larger than the state rankings had forecast.
Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's offense came in ready to rumble, picking up 27 points in the first half. ASU Prep came up with 12 to make it 27-12 heading into the break. The other side of the ball was dominant for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy in the second half, holding ASU Prep to a measly 0 points.
Sophomore Oscar Frias, who passed for 121 yards and 3 touchdowns, was a major factor in the success. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse senior Simeon Walther, who racked up 13 tackles. The victory bumped Scottsdale Preparatory Academy's record up to 2-0. ASU Prep are still searching for that first win as they fell to 0-3.
Next week, Scottsdale Preparatory Academy take on San Carlos at 7:00 PM. Scottsdale Preparatory Academy continues their travels as they hit the road for the second straight game. ASU Prep have some extra time to regroup and restrategize before their next game, which is against North Pointe Prep at Location: Moon Valley HS at 7:00 PM in two weeks.
