Volleyball Recap: Orrville Gets the Win

After losing to Loudonville the last time they met, Orrville decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Red Riders sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Redbirds on Saturday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Red Riders.

Orrville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 22-25, 27-25, 25-18.

Knorelle Hamilton paced Orrville's offense, picking up 11 kills. Hamilton got some help from Hannah Croskey and her 33 assists.

Despite the loss, Loudonville still got an impressive performance from Maggie Vermilya, who had five digs and three aces.

Orrville now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Loudonville, their defeat ended an eight-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 3-2.

Orrville has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against West Holmes on the 23rd. As for Loudonville, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Danville on the 26th.
