While losing is never fun, Scott can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 72nd, while the Irish are ranked fourth).
When it comes to explaining why Scott lost, one person who can't be blamed is Colin Williamson. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Williamson has scored all season. Louden White was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with two steals.
Scott has not been sharp recently as the team's lost five of their last six games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for Charleston Catholic, their win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-1.
Scott will take on the Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Charleston Catholic, they will square off against the The Dots at TBD on Thursday.
