The Palm Bay Pirates have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 26 points or more this season. They breezed by West Shore at home to the tune of 80-31. With Palm Bay ahead 37-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Palm Bay's win on Wednesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Omar Clarke, who scored 15 points along with four steals. That's the first time this season that Clarke scored 15 or more points. O'Ryan Woolestan was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with three steals.
Palm Bay's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-3. As for West Shore, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Palm Bay will square off against Cocoa at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Cocoa focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Friday. West Shore will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against Astronaut at 7:00 p.m. on January 9th. Astronaut knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past five contests -- so hopefully West Shore likes a good challenge.
