Old Colony RVT is 8-2 against Upper Cape Cod RVT since May of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Cougars will look to defend their home field against the Rams at 3:30 p.m. One thing working in Old Colony RVT's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.
On Thursday, Old Colony RVT was able to grind out a solid victory over South Shore Vo-Tech, taking the game 13-9.

Kayleigh DeSousa made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out ten batters over 5.1 innings while giving up three earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in May of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, Old Colony RVT got a massive performance out of Leah Robitaille, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits Robitaille has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Patty Spillane, who went 3-for-4 with three runs and one RBI.
Old Colony RVT kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 19 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5.4 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 14.2.
Meanwhile, after only one run in their last game, Upper Cape Cod RVT made sure to put some runs up on the board against Cape Cod RVT on Friday. The Rams were the clear victors by a 25-3 margin over the Crusaders. Considering the Rams have won seven contests by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Old Colony RVT, Upper Cape Cod RVT also got a great game from a two-way player: Taysia Lopes. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over five innings while giving up three earned runs off seven hits. Lopes has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with five runs, three RBI, and one triple. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 runs per game.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kaiya Thmoas, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Jaelynn Harraden was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five stolen bases and four runs.
Upper Cape Cod RVT pushed their record up to 7-4 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 25.0 runs over those games. As for Old Colony RVT, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season.
Upper Cape Cod RVT's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Old Colony RVT has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.1 hits per game. It's a different story for Upper Cape Cod RVT, though, as they've been averaging 9.7 hits. Given Old Colony RVT's sizable advantage in that area, the Rams will need to find a way to close that gap.
