Mount Dora (Fla.) took the final lead of the game on Saturday as it ran for a touchdown with with 9:00 left in the second quarter, bringing the team to victory over
Eustis (Fla.) 46-32.
The Hurricanes were up 20-17 at the half after taking the lead on a rushing touchdown in the second quarter.
Mount Dora expanded its lead to eight points entering the fourth quarter. MD scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown pass by
Bobby LaRouca.
The Panthers'
Darnell Hill played well. He ran for three touchdowns.
The Hurricanes' standout player in the win was LaRouca. The senior running back threw two touchdowns and ran for one touchdown. He has now scored six touchdowns on the season.
A 37-29 Mount Dora victory was the result when the squads faced off last season.
With the win MD extended its winning streak to three games.
Mount Dora (5-2) will play a 4A District 4 game against Umatilla next week, while Eustis (3-4) will take on Bishop Moore in a 5A District 7 game.
