A well-balanced attack led the Wilby Wildcats over the Torrington Raiders in every quarter on their way to victory on Wednesday. Wilby enjoyed a cozy 70-55 victory over Torrington. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Torrington lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Isaac Fenn, who scored eight points along with 11 rebounds and two blocks. Fenn hasn't dropped below two blocks for five straight games. Luca White was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six assists.
Wilby's win bumped their record up to 8-3. As for Torrington, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
Wilby won't have much time to rest: their next match is against St. Paul Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. St. Paul Catholic knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 11 matchups -- so hopefully Wilby likes a good challenge. As for Torrington, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Oxford at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Oxford is coming into the matchup on a six-game losing streak.
