The Castle View Sabercats lost against the ThunderRidge Grizzlies back in February of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Castle View lost to the Grizzlies at home by a decisive 68-53 margin. While losing is never fun, Castle View can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 55th, while the Grizzlies are ranked first).
Several Sabercats players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Evan Mckean, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Vitorio Dante, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
It was another big night for Charlie Spann, who scored 27 points along with eight rebounds and three steals for ThunderRidge. Another player making a difference was Andrew Crawford, who scored 14 points along with eight assists.
Castle View has traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-8 record this season. As for ThunderRidge, their victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-3.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Castle View has the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome the Titans at 7:00 p.m. on February 6th. Legend knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past four contests -- so hopefully the Sabercats like a good challenge. As for ThunderRidge, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Wolverines at 7:00 p.m. Chaparral is coming into the game hot, having won their last four games.
