Nanih Waiya put the finishing touches on their 11th blowout victory of the season on Friday. They blew past Velma Jackson 52-31. The score was close at the half, but Nanih Waiya pulled away in the second half with 34 points.
Nanih Waiya's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Nyshea Hoskin, who almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hoskin has scored at least a third of Nanih Waiya's points. Kylianna Spivey was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Salem came into Tuesday's game having lost 16 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They breezed by Sacred Heart on the road to the tune of 54-27 on Tuesday. Salem's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.
Nanih Waiya's victory bumped their record up to 23-2. As for Salem, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 2-16.
