Trinity Academy had lost six straight on the road, but on Thursday they dropped down to 0-9 to make it seven. They came up short against the Ravenscroft Ravens, falling 11-1. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Tigers of the 16-1 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.
Ollie Fritter made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
As for Ravenscroft, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.7 runs on average over those games.
On Ravenscroft's side, Matthew Madewell was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those seven strikeouts gave Madewell a new career-high. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
In other pitching news, Liam Goodfellow looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.
Back at the plate, Reed Holt was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one triple. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2025. Amos Welborn also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen bases of the season.
Trinity Academy didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-3 loss against St. David's on the 17th. As for Ravenscroft, they have also already played their next game, a 14-1 defeat against Durham Academy on the 17th.
