The Alton Redbirds put another one in the bag on Tuesday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 51-20 victory over MICDS at home. Alton might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team's won three contests by 31 points or more this season.
Alton got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Talia Norman out in front who scored 10 points along with 7 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Alyssa Lewis, who scored 12 points.
Alton pushed their record up to 4-0 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.3 points per game. As for MICDS, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Alton will stay at home for another game and welcome Edwardsville at 7:30 p.m. on November 30th. Edwardsville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 327th, while Alton is ranked 14th). MICDS will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Holt at 7:00 p.m. on January 31, 2024.
