Cardinal Mooney fell 71-59 to John F. Kennedy Catholic on Tuesday. The contest was a 33-33 toss-up at halftime, but Cardinal Mooney was blown out by John F. Kennedy Catholic in the second.
John F. Kennedy Catholic's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nick Ryan, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 16 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Michael Condoleon, who scored 20 points along with 7 rebounds and 3 steals.
Cardinal Mooney's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 2-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Cardinal Mooney will take on Austintown-Fitch at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Austintown-Fitch focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Tuesday. As for John F. Kennedy Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Lowellville at 6:00 p.m.
