White County is 3-0 against Gilmer since November of 2020, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. Last Friday, it was a hard-fought match, but White County had to settle for a 39-37 loss against Pickens. White County has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
White County might have lost, but man, Tripp Nix was a machine: he rushed for 163 yards and four touchdowns on only 15 carries. Another player making a difference was Ryan Fowler, who rushed for 144 yards and two touchdowns.
Gilmer fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They came out on top against Dawson County by a score of 31-24 two weeks ago.
Aspen Hataway went supernova for Gilmer, rushing for 143 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Hataway's longest rush was for an incredible 71 yards. Douglas Callihan was another key contributor, rushing for 81 yards.
White County now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Gilmer, their victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 6-3.
