Rose has struggled against the Bears recently, as their game on Monday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
J.H. Rose lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Justin Grimes, who scored 18 points along with two steals. Torry "TJ" Brown was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead New Bern to victory, but perhaps none more so than Zymari Buck, who scored 23 points along with two steals. Buck continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jussan Wiggins, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds.
J.H. Rose's loss dropped their record down to 10-8. As for New Bern, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. J.H. Rose will take on the Falcons at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. South Central is looking to tack on another W to their five-game streak on the road. As for New Bern, they will look to defend their home court on Wednesday against the Cardinals at 8:00 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in North Carolina (Jacksonville is ranked 164th, while the Bears are ranked 145th).
