The Willow Spring Storm had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 23 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They snuck past Southeast Raleigh with a 59-54 win. For Willow Spring, this counts as revenge for the 83-70 defeat the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2023.
Willow Spring's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brandon Solomon, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Solomon has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Xavion Terrell, who scored 17 points along with two steals and two blocks.
Willow Spring's victory ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-11. As for Southeast Raleigh, their loss ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 10-7.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Cleveland the next time they take the court. Willow Spring will host the Rams at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while the Bulldogs will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
