The Los Alamitos Griffins will face off against the Windward Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Los Alamitos knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 29 matchups -- so hopefully Windward likes a good challenge.
Los Alamitos had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They really took it to Canyon for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-46 win on the road. Los Alamitos has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won ten games by 20 points or more this season.
Meanwhile, Windward waltzed into their game on Friday with 15 straight wins but they left with 16. They walked away with a 73-66 victory over St. Francis. Given Windward's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked fourth, while St. Francis is ranked 79th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Los Alamitos is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matches, which provided a nice bump to their 24-5 record this season. As for Windward, they pushed their record up to 26-3 with that win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season.
