Even if they lost, Thomas Sumter Academy's defense still kept up the pressure with three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Shawn Wrigley, Weston Shaffer, and Colvin Linville, who each picked up one sack apiece.
Meanwhile, Wilson Hall waltzed into their contest on Friday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 34-15.
Thomas Sumter Academy better focus on containing Ford Wilder and Cameron Wilsey as the pair were huge in Wilson Hall's win. Wilder rushed for 109 yards and one TD on only 11 carries, while Wilsey gained 71 total yards and two touchdowns. What's more, Wilsey racked up 63 rushing yards, the most he's had since back in November of 2024.
Wilson Hall was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 250 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 173 rushing yards every time they've taken the field this season.
Thomas Sumter Academy now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Wilson Hall, their win bumped their record up to 7-1.
The upcoming game will be a clash of competing strengths. Thomas Sumter Academy has relied on air attacks this season and has averaged 272 passing yards per game.
