Ernie Powers Delivers Best Effort of Season
Ernie Powers produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Franklin to the win on Friday. Powers rushed for 316 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 138 or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Franklin's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-3. Powers and Franklin will host Socorro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Quarles Posts Huge Game in 38-7 Win
Zereian Quarles continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his fifth-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least 127 rushing yards. He rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. He was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 50 yards.
Quarles and Pebble Hills will face off against Eastwood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The last time Quarles took on the Troopers, he rushed for 66 yards and a touchdown on only nine carries. Can he match (or beat) that performance?

Eastlake Wins Third-Straight Thanks to Luke Lomeli
Luke Lomeli was instrumental in extending Eastlake's winning streak to three on Friday. Lomeli was unstoppable, throwing for 320 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes.
Unfortunately for Socorro, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Lomeli. Lomeli threw for 328 yards and six touchdowns while picking up 11.7 yards per attempt the last time he and the Bulldogs duked it out back in September of 2023.

Dorian Jaramillo Turns in Another Game with at Least Six Total Tackles
Dorian Jaramillo continued his hot streak on Friday by dropping his 17th-straight game (dating back to last season) with at least six total tackles. He picked up 1.5 sacks, made 11 total tackles (2.0 for loss), and defended a pass.
Unfortunately for Montwood, this isn't the first big game they've seen from Jaramillo. Back in October of 2023 (the last time Jaramillo saw the Rams), he made 17 total tackles (2.0 for loss).

Chris Garcia Makes It Two for Eastlake
The second Eastlake player making an appearance here is Chris Garcia, and for good reason. He picked up 123 receiving yards and a touchdown. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 71 yards.
For the season, Garcia has caught 3 touchdowns while averaging 74.8 receiving yards per game.
