The King's Academy Knights came tearing into Friday's matchup with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 31.7 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Furtah Prep by a score of 46-36. That result was just more of the same for these two, as The King's Academy also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2022.
The King's Academy's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Katherine Lubben, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds and four steals. Lubben hasn't dropped below eight rebounds for five straight games. Another player making a difference was Addyson Nix, who scored ten points along with five rebounds and two steals.
The King's Academy is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. As for Furtah Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-6.
The King's Academy will be playing at home against Valor Christian at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Furtah Prep won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Cristo Rey Atlanta at 2:00 p.m. on January 20th.
