The Conestoga Christian Cougars lost against the Oley Valley Lynx back in January of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Conestoga Christian was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 53-52 to Oley Valley. Conestoga Christian has not had much luck with Oley Valley recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Paul Hurst and Josh Boutaugh certainly did their best on Thursday to try and avoid the loss. Hurst scored 28 points along with eight rebounds, while Boutaugh scored 20 points along with five steals. Hurst scored a full 53.8% of Conestoga Christian's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Conestoga Christian's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Oley Valley, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-2.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Conestoga Christian won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against High Point Baptist Academy at 7:30 p.m. on January 12th. High Point Baptist Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. Oley Valley will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Tulpehocken at 7:30 p.m. on January 23rd.
