3A/2A Waccamaw recap Oct. 3, 2012
Colby Lewis and Malcolm Vaught provided fans with a highlight when they connected against North Brunswick. The connection went for 58 yards, the longest such play in 3A/2A Waccamaw this season.
The Scorpions led the league in scoring this week after putting up 53 points on West Bladen.
The Knights' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Lewis threw for 79 and one touchdown and Vaught had 63 yards receiving. On the ground Lewis chipped in 15 yards. Corbin Stanley helped West Bladen's passing attack out by catching one ball for 11 yards.
West Bladen's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Knights feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Zack Wilcox has thrown for 546 yards and three touchdowns this season, while Vaught has 35 catches for 342 yards. Deandre Long leads the league in rushing with 562 yards.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when South Columbus takes on North Brunswick. The Stallions have allowed 102 points this season, while Garry Bishop's team has given up 115. South Columbus allowed 7 points last week as it beat South Brunswick.
