Switzerland County has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Shawe Memorial Hilltoppers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Switzerland County focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up nine last Saturday.
Even though Milan scored an imposing 59 points, Switzerland County still came out on top. Switzerland County walked away with a 69-59 win over Milan.
Cam Craig was his usual excellent self, shooting 4-for-8 from deep and dropping a double-double on 39 points and 12 rebounds. That makes it six consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of Switzerland County's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kadyn Riley, who scored 19 points.
Meanwhile, Shawe Memorial pushed their score all the way to 66 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Columbus Christian by a score of 69-66. Shawe Memorial just can't catch a break and has now endured three losses in a row.
Switzerland County now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Shawe Memorial, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-11.
Everything came up roses for Switzerland County against Shawe Memorial in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the team secured a 66-36 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Switzerland County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
