Caldwell is 1-9 against Skyview since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cougars will head out to take on the Hawks at 5:00 p.m. Skyview took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Caldwell, who comes in off a win.
Caldwell barely beat Emmett the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Cougars were the clear victors by a 13-4 margin over the Huskies on Thursday. Considering the Cougars' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Bristol Runnels was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out 16 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in March. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Rylie Felton, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten matchups. Another player making a difference was Maritza Garcia, who went 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Skyview faced Middleton in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Hawks took an 8-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Vikings. That makes it the first time this season the Hawks have let down their home crowd.
Makenna Shamy spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned (and five unearned) runs on ten hits and racked up ten Ks. Those ten strikeouts set a new season-high mark for her.
On the hitting side, Lily Bittinger made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.
Skyview's loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 12-2. As for Caldwell, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-8.
Caldwell might still be hurting after the 10-0 defeat they got from Skyview in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
