Dooly County was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their sixth straight  loss. They took  a  57-48 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wilcox County Patriots. The Bobcats were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Patriots apparently hadn't forgotten their  defeat the last time these teams played  back in January of 2024.
 Dooly County lost  despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being   Jamonte Taylor, who  posted 15  points and five  assists. Taylor continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last five games he's  played.  Sean Sallette was another key player,  putting up eight points.
  Jackson Smith was  his usual excellent self,  going 9 of 17  on his way to 21  points and eight  rebounds for Wilcox County. Those 21 points gave  Smith a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Jay Howard, who  earned eight  points and nine  boards.
Dooly County's loss dropped their record down to 1-13. As for Wilcox County, the  victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-10.
 Dooly County has already played their next contest,  an  80-60  defeat against Treutlen on the 29th. As for Wilcox County, they also  wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next  matchup,  a  71-36  loss against Crisp County on the 27th.
