Cole Davis continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 154 yards and three scores while picking up 8.1 yards per carry, and also picking up 52 receiving yards and one TD. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making six total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass in addition to snagging an interception. Breese Central also got a significant boost from Owen Kehrer, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 85 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Breese Central was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 265 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 184 rushing yards in four consecutive games.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Breese Central's defense and their three sacks. Ezekial Matthews refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Breese Central got some further help from Jackson Kampwerth: he picked up 0.5 sacks and made 15 total tackles (2.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Rochester ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They snuck past Sacred Heart-Griffin with a 41-35 win. The Rockets haven't had any issues with the Cyclones recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Breese Central better focus on containing Kaiden Stout and Khordell Gregory as the pair were huge in Rochester's win. Stout gained 132 total yards and a touchdown, while Gregory rushed for 38 yards and a pair of touchdowns. What's more, Gregory racked up 25 receiving yards, the most he's had since back in August.
Breese Central's record is now 11-1. As for Rochester, their record now sits at an identical 11-1.
Saturday's contest will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Davis and Stout. Davis just won't slow down this season and has run in 22 touchdowns while averaging 98.3 rushing yards per game. Stout has been a dominant force too and has run in 8 touchdowns while averaging 88.8 rushing yards per game.
Breese Central took a serious blow against Rochester in their previous meeting back in November of 2023, falling 49-13. Thankfully for the Cougars, Bryan Zulauf Jr (who rushed for 104 yards and four TDs on only eight carries, and also threw for 255 yards and one touchdown while completing 73.9% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
