Dorman is 9-1 against Spartanburg since December of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Dorman Cavaliers will head out on the road to square off against the Spartanburg Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Dorman focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Friday.
Last Friday, Dorman was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 58-52 to Gaffney. Dorman has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their loss, Dorman saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nakiyah Kelly, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Kelly has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times she's played. Makayla Moore was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Spartanburg didn't have too much trouble with Boiling Springs on the road on Friday as they won 66-47. The victory was just what Spartanburg needed coming off of a 71-51 loss in their prior contest.
Dorman's defeat dropped their record down to 12-8. As for Spartanburg, their win bumped their record up to 9-11.
Everything came up roses for Dorman against Spartanburg when the teams last played back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 69-32 victory. Does Dorman have another victory up their sleeve, or will Spartanburg turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
