Chapin hasn't had much luck against Canutillo recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Huskies will take on the Eagles at 6:30 p.m. Chapin is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.
Chapin had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Jefferson on Tuesday. The Huskies were the clear victors by a 16-5 margin over the Silver Foxes. The victory continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Silver Foxes: they've now won five in a row.
Nathan Hurtado spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on three hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Nathan Sanchez, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, seven RBI, and three runs. Those seven RBI gave him a new career-high. Harper Babb was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Chapin kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They are 5-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, Canutillo was able to grind out a solid win over Burges on Tuesday, taking the game 4-1.
Rylee Estrada looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He is becoming a predictor of Canutillo's success: when he allows at most two earned runs the team is 6-3 (and 5-6 when he doesn't).
At the plate, Ashton Dupri was excellent, going 2-for-4 with one home run. That home run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Noah Pavia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.
Chapin's record now sits at 11-8-1. As for Canutillo, their record is now 11-9.
Friday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Chapin hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .364. However, it's not like Canutillo struggles in that department as they've averaged .345. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Chapin might still be hurting after the 13-6 defeat they got from Canutillo when the teams last played back in April of 2025. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
