The Ridgeline Riverhawks were the 58-48 winner over the Bear River Bears when they last played one another back in February of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Ridgeline took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of Bear River on Wednesday. Ridgeline found out winning isn't easy when you're outrebounded 12 to 5 on offense.
Several Riverhawks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cam Blotter, who scored nine points along with six assists and three steals. Blotter has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played. Another player making a difference was Carson Cox, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Bridger Barfuss was his usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals for Bear River. Barfuss hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Gehrig Marble was another key contributor, scoring nine points along with nine rebounds and five assists.
Ridgeline has not been sharp recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-5 record this season. As for Bear River, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ridgeline will take on Sky View at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Sky View is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak. As for Bear River, they will head out on the road to take on Mountain Crest at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Utah (Mountain Crest is ranked 46th, while Bear River is ranked 22nd).
