Basketball Recap: Riverside's Victory on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Riverside waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They blew past the Scotts Hill Lions 75-49. The contest was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Panthers had established a 23 point advantage.

Leading Riverside to victory were Jack Cupples and Kutter Potts. Cupples went 5 of 12 en route to 15 points and eight boards, while Potts went 7 for 11 on his way to 16 points. Those 16 points gave Potts a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Colt Brooks, who posted 12 points and six rebounds.

Riverside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive games.

Riverside is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.1 points per game. As for Scotts Hill, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last 11 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-12 record this season.

Riverside didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 72-48 defeat against Jackson Central Merry on the 24th. As for Scotts Hill, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 75-62 loss against Madison on the 24th.
