The biggest upset of the week belonged to Warren Central, who took down 53rd ranked Warren Central, 41-40. Cale Luke threw for 14 yards and ran for 122 yards in the win.
Murrah was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from fourth to second in 6A Region 2. The Mustangs beat Vicksburg 57-42 earlier in the week.
Vonnie Howard and Malik Dear gave Murrah a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Howard threw for 184 yards and four touchdowns, while Dear ran for 202 yards. Marquisian Chatman also contributed to the rushing game with 102 yards on the ground.
Joshua Palm was the best wideout in the league this week as Jim Hill lost to Madison Central. Palm racked up four receptions for 81 yards. Jerrail Washington helped Jim Hill's passing attack out by catching seven balls for 59 yards.
The Jaguars' Jake Schwartz and Keith Williams have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Schwartz has thrown for 1488 yards this season, while Williams, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 43 catches for 826 yards. Zachary Grady's team's Dear leads the league in rushing yards with 1072.
A big matchup in 6A Region 2 this week will be when the Tigers take on the Mustangs. At the moment, Jim Hill is in third, while Murrah is in second.
Madison Central extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating John Jennings' team, 34-6. The win marks fifth in a row for the Bobby Hall's team.
