Basketball Recap: Ashton Parisien Key Part of a Team Effort in Woodchucks Win

There's no place like home for St. John, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They walked away with a 67-54 victory over the Drayton/Valley-Edinburg Titans on Saturday. For the Woodchucks, this counts as revenge for the 50-48 win the Titans walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2024.

St. John's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ashton Parisien led the charge by going 9 of 15 en route to 24 points in addition to five assists and three steals. The game was Parisien's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Madden Parisien, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten steals.

St. John smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in three consecutive matchups.

St. John's victory bumped their record up to 4-8. As for Drayton/Valley-Edinburg, their loss was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-6.
