Two dominant guards in Chase Almager and Trent Decrane are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Delphi Community Oracles will head out on the road to take on the Sheridan Blackhawks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Delphi Community focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
Last Friday, Delphi Community earned a 50-42 win over Western Boone. The win made it back-to-back wins for Delphi Community.
Delphi Community's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Almager, who scored 20 points along with five rebounds. Almager hasn't dropped below 20 points for three straight games. Josh Hartley was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with six assists.
Sheridan proved they can win big on Wednesday (they won by 20) but on Friday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past Carroll 75-72. Winning may never get old, but Sheridan sure is getting used to it with their third in a row.
Delphi Community is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. As for Sheridan, their win bumped their record up to 11-6.
Delphi Community didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Sheridan in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, but they still walked away with a 61-55 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Delphi Community since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
