Page had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They walked away with a 34-22 victory over the Kingman Bulldogs on Friday. The Sand Devils have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Bulldogs, too.
Page's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Joseph Benally, who rushed for 77 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 181 yards and a pair of TDs. Benally got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 75 yards. Another back making a difference was Renato Littleman, who rushed for 148 yards and one score while picking up 7.8 yards per carry.
Despite the loss, Kingman still got an impressive performance from KOA NOMURA, who rushed for 86 yards and one TD.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Page will take on Payson at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Kingman, they will face off against Kingman Academy at 7:00 p.m. on the 30th.
