The Campbellsville Eagles are taking a road trip to take on the Larue County Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Larue County will challenge a team with plenty of momentum: Campbellsville extended their winning streak to four on Saturday. The Eagles put the hurt on Holy Cross with a sharp 9-1 win.

Kace Eastridge made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out seven batters over 4.1 innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Eastridge wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Ty Burwash, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double. Another was Griffin Howard, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Larue County had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 runs) and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. Everything went their way against the Trojans as they made off with a 12-4 victory. The game was the first time the Hawks have beaten the Trojans on their field since April 17, 2018.
Hunter Richardson looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits.
At the plate, Lucas Thompson and Brayden Singleton did most of the damage at the plate: Thompson got on base in all five of his plate appearances with one home run, three runs, and two RBI, while Singleton went 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. The dominant performance also gave Thompson a new career-high in hits (three). Ryan Hughes also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Larue County lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.
Larue County pushed their record up to 16-2-1 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.6 runs on average over those games. As for Campbellsville, their record is now 18-5.
Campbellsville took their win against Larue County in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 12-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
