The St. Albans Red Dragons will head out on the road to challenge the Cabell Midland Knights at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. St. Albans is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games.
On Wednesday, St. Albans didn't have too much trouble with Winfield at home as they won 57-39. That's two games straight that St. Albans has won by exactly 18 points.
Meanwhile, Cabell Midland suffered a rough 59-36 loss at the hands of East Fairmont on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Cabell Midland can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 33rd, while East Fairmont is ranked second).
St. Albans has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Cabell Midland, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.
St. Albans couldn't quite finish off Cabell Midland in their previous matchup back in March of 2023 and fell 61-58. Thankfully for St. Albans, Jazmyn Wheeler (who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
