Football Recap: Rancho Bernardo Makes It Three in a Row on the Road

Rancho Bernardo extended their road winning streak to three games thanks to a huge performance from Gaige Weddle. The Broncos took down the Del Norte Nighthawks 31-17 on Friday with plenty of help from Weddle, who rushed for 77 yards and three scores, and also threw for 279 yards and one touchdown while picking up 12.1 yards per attempt. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making nine total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending one pass.

Hugo Gonzalez was Weddle's top target, picking up 123 receiving yards and one TD. Gonzalez showed off some serious burst, cutting upfield on a catch for 54 yards.

Rancho Bernardo's win bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Del Norte, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coming up, Rancho Bernardo will be playing in front of their home fans against El Camino at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Broncos will be up against the Wildcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 30.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
