After two games on the road, Peekskill is heading back home. They will take on the Haldane Blue Devils at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Given that both teams suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.
Peekskill lost a heartbreaker when they last took the court, but unfortunately for them the defeat they were handed on last Wednesday was a bit more commanding. They were outmatched by Walter Panas on the road and fell 71-29. Peekskill has not had much luck with Walter Panas recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Despite the loss, Peekskill saw an underclassman step up: Azarriyah Ashley scored 21 points. That was a full 72.4% of Peekskill's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Meanwhile, Haldane's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their fifth straight loss. The matchup between Haldane and Croton-Harmon wasn't particularly close, with Haldane falling 42-26.
Peekskill dropped their record down to 6-8 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 29.7 points per game. As for Haldane, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.
Peekskill beat Haldane 47-39 in their previous meeting back in December of 2021. Will Peekskill repeat their success, or does Haldane have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
