Tolleson has been on the road for three straight, but on Monday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Valley Vista Monsoon at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Tolleson will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 159th, while Valley Vista is ranked 18th).
Tolleson put the finishing touches on their fourth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 45-21 margin over West Point. The victory was just what Tolleson needed coming off of a 57-36 defeat in their prior contest.
Valley Vista suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They suffered a tough 64-43 loss at the hands of Desert Vista. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Valley Vista has scored all season.
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Tysyn Johnson, who scored 11 points. Another player making a difference was Deja Strong, who scored nine points.
Valley Vista struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only four offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Tolleson now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Valley Vista, they bumped their record down to 7-4 with that defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Tolleson was dealt a bruising 70-17 defeat at the hands of Valley Vista in their previous meeting back in January of 2023. Can Tolleson avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
