Jordan walked away with a 71-63 victory over the Miners on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Walt Gooden had an outrageously good game as he almost dropped a double-double on 20 points and nine rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Udochi Iheanacho, who scored 12 points along with three steals.
Park City's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cameron Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, and Luke Rice who scored ten points along with six assists and two steals. It was the first time this season that Rice grabbed two or more steals. Ben Heskett was another key contributor, scoring six points.
Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 7-9 record this season. As for Park City, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-12.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jordan will face off against the Spartans at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Murray will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Park City's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Colts at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Cottonwood has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 296 points over their last four games.
