The Keller Indians will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the Highland Park Scots at 2:30 p.m. on Thursday. Keller is looking to tack on another W to their ten-game streak on the road dating back to last season.
Last Friday, the stars were shining brightly for Keller in a 53-34 victory over Byron Nelson. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Keller has scored all season.
Keller's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Steven Ramirez, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds, and Brooks Bahr, who scored nine points along with nine assists and six rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Ramirez has scored at least 25% of Keller's points. Another player making a difference was Quinn Estep, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Highland Park was able to grind out a solid victory over Berkner on Friday, taking the game 58-47. Given Highland Park's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Berkner is ranked 792nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Keller has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season. As for Highland Park, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6.
